ABSTRACT

Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor is a group of tumors composed of variable proportions of Sertoli cells, Leydig cells and sometimes heterologous elements. Most tumors are unilateral, confined to the ovaries, and are seen during the second and third decades of life. These tumors are characterized by the presence of testicular structures that produce androgens. Hence, many patients have symptoms of virilization depending on the quantity of and rogen production. We are presenting a case of 16 yrs old girl who presented with symptoms of virilization. She was operated for the ovarian mass. A diagnosis of sertoli-leydig cell tumor was rendered

ABSTRACT

A mesothelial cyst of the round ligament is a rare cause of an inguinal mass. Clinically, it is frequently misdiagnosed as one of commoner diseases such as an inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, lipoma, and lymphadenopathy upon physical examination. Some previous reports elaborated the sonographic features of a mesothelial cyst of the round ligament. However, to our knowledge, few reports have described the CT features of a mesothelial cyst. We illustrated here the sonographic and multidetector CT features of a case of a mesothelial cyst of the round ligament that presented as an inguinal palpable mass and mimicked a metastasis in a patient with a Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor of the ovary.

ABSTRACT

Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors are uncommon tumors of ovary accounting for about 1% of sex cord stromal tumors. They constitute between 0.1% to 0.5% of all the primary ovarian neoplasms. The majority of reported cases are moderately or poorly differentiated combined Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors. A rare case of Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor with heterologous element in a 14 year girl is described. The heterologous component comprised smooth muscle, an uncommon element, that was seen in 60 to 70% of the tumor area. The epithelial element of the tumor consisted of solid, tubular and foci of retiform pattern. Both these features imply a poor prognosis.

ABSTRACT

A 16 years old female who presented with abdominal swelling and secondary amenorrhoea was subsequently diagnosed as Sertoli Leydig cell tumour of ovary revealing intermediate differentiation with heterologous element. The case is reported in view of its rarity.

ABSTRACT

Sertoli Leydig cell tumour (SLCT) of the ovary with the presence of heterologous elements is very unusual. A case of SLCT with virilizing symptoms and androgenic endocrinological profile is presented. The tumor showed presence of heterologous element in the form of mucinous epithelium of the gastrointestinal type.

ABSTRACT

Mucinous neoplasms occur rarely in association with cystic teratoma, Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor, granulosa cell tumor or carcinoid tumor. Several cases of an ovarian stromal tumor with minor sex-cord elements have been reported in the literatures. However, there has been no report about an ovarian mucinous neoplasm coexisting with a stromal tumor with sex-cord elements yet. We report a case of an ovarian neoplasm composed of both mucinous cystadenoma and stromal tumor with minor sex-cord elements in a 58-yr-old female. The ovary including the mass measured 5 cm in size. On section, it revealed an unilocular cyst (4.5 cm in diameter) filled with mucinous fluid. There was a round, yellow, solid nodule, 1.5 cm in diameter within the wall. Microscopically, the cyst was lined by a single layer of endocervical mucinous epithelium and the nodule was composed of spindle cells showing an intersecting and whorled arrangement. There were cell nests showing polygonal shape with abundant cytoplasm among the spindle cells. They showed immunoreactivity for inhibin and did not have any connection with the adjacent mucinous epithelium. Therefore, we interpret the mucinous cystadenoma as having arisen de novo.

ABSTRACT

We report a 16 year old girl presenting with secondary amenorrhea, a history of voice coarsening, hirsutism and a body mass index of 35 kg/m2. Pelvic ultrasound and CT scans showed a retro uterine dense mass. She was operated and a left ovarian tumor was excised. Pathological examination disclosed a Sertoli-Leydig tumor

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

We Describe a case of ovarian serous cystadenoma having Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor, well differentiated, in the cystic septum. Well differentiated Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor coexisting with other tumor, including serous tumor, has not yet been described. In all cases of Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor with heterologous components or other tumors, the androblastomatous components are intermediately or poorly differentiated. The present case revealed a well differentiated Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor arising in a septum of serous cystadenoma, as a circumscribed nodule. With these findings, we discuss the possibility of this Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor, considered a mural nodule, which is well established in cystic common epithelial tumors of the ovary.

ABSTRACT

A case of Sertoli cells ovarian tumor in a 55 year old patient is reported. Some comments are made on this type of tumor. The tumor reported was very differentiated and non functional. The surgical indication was made on the clinical data, and a bilateral ooforectomy was performed.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

A case of androblastoma, functioning, intermediary type, is related. The tumor was present on a 25 year old woman who presented charactheristics of defeminization and masculinization. The hormonal count of androgen was normal. The 17-OHCS were elevated. The patient was submited to total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-ooferectomy and omentectomy. Some endocrine aspects of this tumor are commented
